London Olympic 2012: Badminton

I am proud to be granted a chance to watch a classic yet skillful match of Super Dan and my very own hero, Dato' Lee Chong Wei. That was a real final as the foe and friend fight their very best for themselves and for their country. I never miss a final match of Olympic badminton since 2004 at Athens, Greece where Taufik Hidayat shocked spectators to claimed the Olympic champion. At that particular time, Lin Dan was a major threat to everyone but luck was not on his side as he was ousted at the early stage by the unheralded Singaporean, Ronald Susilo. After the defeated, Lin Dan striked back and had won many major championship including four times world champion, five times All-England champion, and recently crowned double Olympic champion. The first man ever in the history of badminton Olympic to ever retained the title. What a huge resume he got.

On winning the Olympic crown again in London 2012, many had condemned him because of his arrogant-like attitude which I totally disagree. Mind you, he will never write his name in the history of badminton if it was not due to his attitude. If you say it's arrogant, I'll say it's a champion attitude. Every man react and behave differently. He may not be a double Olympic champion if he has a boy-next-door attitude. He's who he is. He enjoy every single moment on court by throwing his tantrum and yelling at himself. But you can't deny the spirit, aggressiveness. momentum, and the urge to win every games that he showed. That is not arrogant. That's what separate him from the rest of players including our own Lee Chong Wei. Dato' absolutely had the chance to surpass Lin Dan but he kept repeating the same mistakes and if we are talking about mental war, Dato' failed miserably. I will not blame him. He had given his best. It hurts seeing him crying, as many other Malaysian would felt the same too. If I have to put the blame on someone, I will have to choose the politician. Athletes are not burden bearers. Stop pressuring them and just mind your own business. You have to splash money to unite us, but our beloved athletes' just need to splash their sweats to unite us all.

In men doubles, the Chinese superstar-duo Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng finally grabbed the Olympic champion crown defeating the Dane, Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen who upset the mighty Korean, Lee Young Dae and Jung Jae Sung who won bronze medal defeating Koo Ken Kiet and Tan Boon Heong. It was the Chinese supreme moment as they first won their Olympic gold medal following huge upset in their homeland in Olympic Beijing 2008 as they lost to Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia. In the mix double, women single and double, the Chinese had elegently swept away all the Gold medals too. What a power. They took all the gold medal in London Olympic 2012.

Overall, it is satisfying to see a little twist like the Dane who fought hard to overcome the Chinese. What matter is effort. Supporters respect you for that. Though it was the Chinese glories here there and everywhere, the Chinese had mark a bad reputation too  for their women double match set-up including Korean and Indonesian pair. Some fans support them claiming it was strategy, some are just disagree because it is against the spirit of Olympic. For me, it was a great call by Lund, to preserve the quality and enthusiasm in badminton games. When you play, play with dignity and respect. You knew you did something wrong when the supporters jeered instead of cheered for you. London badminton Olympic 2012 had ended its rail. Once again, London bow to the Chinese masters. Congratulation to everyone, players, organizer, and fans!

p/s: Athletics had started and I just can't sat still as my idols, Yelena Isinbayeva and Blanka Vlasic will rock the London arena. Lightning Bolt had stunned everyone with his cheerful attitude and broke his own Olympic record. I will try to steal some times and write about diving too. Sports are indeed entertaining!

Bonding time via miniature garden!

Parents has been programmed by the “baby educating industry” into thinking that in order to survive in today’s global economy, kids need to be better, brighter, and busier than ever before. Somehow, they did not know that young children who explore, investigate, and experiment through PLAY build strong foundations in every important area of development, including intelligence, language, social competence and emotional security- Michael Meyerhoff in THE POWER OF PLAY.

I would love to stress up upon outdoor play instead of indoor. If you drive around the cities and towns to see what kids do, then pity you. There are very few kids outside.Research has shown that outdoor play takes a far bigger role in people’s memory than indoor play time, even if hours outside are fewer than those within. To be fair, parent are not solely to be blame. Many bad incidents happen recently, right? I guess that maybe one of the main concern.

Well here I would like to share something that I'd read and trust me it seem to be very fun. Dear parent, take note.

A miniature fairy garden for your kids! Oh my, I love gardening!

What you need are:

barrel/ big size pot (just make sure it has a hole for drainage)
Potting soil
little rocks (painted)
mosses
little furnitures
coconut shell(half)
Earthworm (optional)
plant

1. Once you have picked out your container, fill it with potting soil, leaving it about 6 inches deep.

2. Next, plan how you want your Fairy Garden to look on a paper. You can create hill by mounding the soil and the valley by grooving the soil.

3. Earthworms are optional. They are great soil aerators and help for good soil drainage (plus, they give the little one something to do so that he doesn't keep destroying the soil hill you have so carefully built =p)

4. When choosing plants for your Fairy Garden, be mindful of the scale you are after. You want it to look like a miniature garden. Moss is the main ground cover and too many other plants may detract from the mossy atmosphere. Let your imagination run wild as you choose plants that you think is right.

5. Also, keep in mind the color combinations. Colours will add texture and interest to the Fairy Garden. Another consideration when choosing your plants is to make sure the combination you choose all like the same amount of sun and water. If you are going to be using moss, remember that moss likes sun to part shade and lots of water. Make sure you choose other plants that like the same. If you are going for a desert garden appeal, pebbles, rocks and various cacti look wonderful, but do make sure that too many prickles won't deter your little one from playing in his garden.

6. When your plants are in their place, set in your pond. Your pond can be any smaller container. We used a coconut shell but you can use a glass bowl, a porcelain bowl, a metal bowl. Anything that lends itself to the magic and natural feel of your garden. Do not place your stones until you have planted the moss.

7. with the pond in place, it's time to plant your moss. Carefully break off chunks of moss and contour it over the landscaped hill and valley, around the pond and the tree. Remember to leave space for your path.

8. Then set in your rocks and pebbles for your path. All at once, your Fairy Garden looks like the magical wonderland that it is.

9. Set in a bench, a table and a chair.

10. I believe everyone has their creative-potential, so let it out! Its bonding time with your children. Go go go!

09 February 2012

It was November 2009. I asked him to accompany me and Tajul to Kelantan. I need some extra hands to help me during the sampling so I texted him a simple message. I do not really knew him in person, but I definitely knew his name is Lutfi. Haha. After our first day in the jungle, we started to have a conversation. We tagged along really fast. After the sampling, we became good friends. We play badminton, sampling, and loafing together. In December 2009, we became real close till we had to make a crucial decision making. Though I knew him for just two months, it felt like I have known him for years. I am perfectly sure I have made a right decision. InsyaAllah. After everything had settled, we make it official on first January of 2010.

Getting to know him is a long process. I am a secretive person and the fact that I have to share with him my secret is one hard thing to do. We fought because of that. It took me a while to really open up with him. But to be honest, till today, I still have secrets that I only shared with my girl friends. Not that I do not put my trust in him, but certain things girls know best compare to men. Jealousy of course another big issue to cope with too especially at the beginning of our relationship. To develop trust is not an easy task. Especially when you are holding to the phrase "Men are not meant to be trusted". I said these to my girls.."I trust him, really, unfortunately he's a man, I do not trust men. A little exception, I will only put my trust in a man name HUSBAND!" In terms of attitude, we were proud to have each other. He's a boy next door whom mom would love to take as son-in-law. Ehem, me too*jump into the basket and hardly trying to lift myself up, urgh urgh*. Another thing to learn is the boundary between friends and our special one. We can't treat friends like we treat our special one. Simple example, I can't treat my boy friends like I treat my fiancee. Calling other boy 'abg' or 'papa' is a big no no. Just an example, Okeh. I do not do stupid stuff like that behind his back. Not even with my best-male-friend.

These are just a few. More to comes right? When we live together, there will be more sides of him that I should know and learn how to handle. Men and women are different. Women can not expect men to think or act like them. Certain things, men just do not get it. It sucks sometimes, but that's the truth. Maybe that is the fun of it. I am looking forward to live with this creature called man.

Little white cafe

Pretty, isn't? I was on my way to PKNS Bangi to find some cross-stitch materials, then I found this cafe. A place where they sell environment more than foods. Tumblr for more pictures.

Placid.

Then I went to Big Bad Wolf Sale! Woohooo! Next entry OK.

Need vs Want

I have always wanted to update my blog. One post per day. However, due to some circumstances and limitation, it can't be fulfilled. Since the exorcism of my friend at UM KL, I tend to talk less. Not to mention how tired I am for the whole week.

My fiancee too was tired and exhausted. Even he said he is OK, but his face just can't lie. A tough week for him. Lucky that recently, one of his besties is now joining his business and became new business partner. He finally got his sparring friend. I reviewed his SMS and it made me relief when they continually supporting and advising each other. Great men with great mission and visions. Hot, right? Hehe.

We are eager in business, but mine is not as strong as him. There are other things that I treasured more than money. Something that make me myself. Something that make me proud to be born myself. I love my routine, and wish to keep them with me. It does not mean I am not with him, I always support him, I always pray for his success, but I need to be me. I am at my best when I feel like it.

With all those business matters, we rarely have quality of time together. Even while having our meal, the topic mostly about business. Sometimes, I do miss our weekend together. I mean only the two of us. I miss those calls to make sure I am all right at home back then in Terengganu. At night, after work or business matters, I usually fall to sleep. A few SMS then knocked out. For few months, these are little things that we should bare with. After the glory are ours, then everything will turn out normal. Hopefully.

Few days before, I made 'Apam polkadot'. My first trial exactly. Do check my tumblr for more pictures. A little present for him to burst up his spirit. Cute, aren't they?

In the future, I do hope we gain what we pursue. Aja aja fightin!

:Inspired:

These few days were daunting days to be counted. Failure in time management and can't find peace with my daily routine. Discipline is nowhere to be found. A messy life, yet in return it gave a huge impact on how life is not base on what you wish or want. Despite all those, it makes me bubbly when I manage to find some spare time browsing what I am inspired most. Art of course. Click on Peek A boo box on the right side of my blog. They give me joy and happiness. They brought me back to my childhood pieces of memories where I was eager to be an interior designer. I don't throw away boxes, remnants of fabrics, paper, bottles, and so forth. I collected them and stored them nicely in my room. I made pillows, frames, cards, and many more things with them. Check out the link below. Who knows you may find your inspirations too.
